Once located in SW MN, but now have relocated to Beautiful Montana! We still travel back to Minnesota frequently so delivering to that region and anywhere in between is always a possiblity. We can make other traveling and shipping arrangements as needed.
The whole "Hereford" thing started with us when Tyeson wanted his very own Hereford cow after watching the movie "Grand Champion". He would watch it all the time. What an inspiration that has been to him to want to get involved and want to work at something that will give him the satisfication of the work he does. In 2011, his dad got him his first Hereford Heifer. And so the story goes! His herd continues to grow each year as he retains the heifers back.
We started in the Hereford Hog enterprise in 2014. The main guy who got us involved is 9 year old, Tyeson. His own research, knowledge and savings got us interested enough to try the breed. He and with very limited help from his Dad work together with everyday chores, nutrition, and mating selection. It is more then a hobby. It is a business venture that we strive to produce top quality breeding animals and high end meat for consumers. Raising animals is what we do. We raise top quality Boer Goats (www.lazyacresboergoats.com), and also operate a Black Angus herd (www.gravenhoffarms.com). Throughout all our enterprises we use artificial insemination to be able to use the Top Quality Stock available. We do not have a boar on our premise right now and have been successful with AI in the hogs as well.
Tyeson purchased his first set of sows from Orlan Schulte. Orlan is very knowledgeable about the Hereford Hog as he is part of the Schulte Family that started this Heritage breed. Tyeson is grateful to have such a mentor that helped him get started.
